Are there any #GNU/Linux distributions that have strong #anti-gen-AI policies?

I'd love to be able to run something that I could trust would not put #slopware in it's repositories.

I'm fine using outdated versions of my favorite software, if it means I can hold off the #LLM wave.

Right now I have to double-guess every new software release and it's a burden.

There have to be some more #people who care about #EthicalComputing.

Maybe we can fork #Linux too.

#StopSlop #NoAI #StopAI #FuckAI

@unfa at this point if we want to avoid any LLM gen based code/software we need to think about leaving Linux too. The last few releases have a whole big pile of LLM related things in there.

HaikuOS looks more and more appealing by the day... they consistently say no to LLM stuff

@falktx @unfa
Does this affect the Linux kernel or mainly the ecosystem? Can you reference some resources about this?

@marcdinkum @unfa the kernel is for sure full of LLM gen patches lately, just check the kernel mailing lists or maybe LWN?
heck even phoronix has mentioned that quite a few times, kernel devs being overwhelmed by the amount of stuff sprung by LLMs - for example phoronix.com/news/Linux-7.3-Ne

Some "random" libraries started accepting LLM stuff quite liberally.
My preferred go-to json as example github.com/nlohmann/json/
Or hidapi for dealing with HID devices github.com/libusb/hidapi

@marcdinkum @unfa this will of course propagate to more than just lower-level things, I just mention the stuff that caught my attention.

I imagine at some point it will be impossible to have a working system without some LLM gen code on it.
