The maintainer of "Tenacity" (a fork of Audacity) says he's been doxxed, bullied and physically harrased by 4chan users over his project, and has given up to protect his family and himself.
4chan users have created a fork called "Sneedacity" (apparently named after a local meme of theirs) and apparently deided that "Tenacity" was not allowed to co-exist with their work.

@unfa honestly. Both names are too memey to be taken seriously, I can see normal people choosing Glimpse over GIMP, although that project's dead now.
Tenacity nor Sneedacity sound like audio software at all.
And all of this drama seems quite unnecessary. Why would a fork be against another fork? If you want your software to be the default choice, you should make it worth using and not just take down the competition

Why does the name need to sound like audio software?

Let's also not forget the most famous audio plugin suite in Linux, appropriately named "Calf".
