The 4.0 release already has VST3 and CLAP, but a little fix is needed to get them to work nicely in these formats. Pull request already sent upstream.

For those who don't know what Clap is: it's not the electronic percussion Gary Numan used in "Cars", it's the new and compared to VST extremity open plugin format developed mainly by the super capable guys at U-HE (Podolski, Tyrell etc.) for all major platforms including Linux of course.
That's why it's extremely important that a wide range of hosts include this plugin format asap, so it's survival is granted.
