Anybody knows someone working at Ableton?

Ableton Live crashes when picking Darkglass Anagram as USB interface because of its odd-number of IO (3 capture, 9 playback).
It expects USB IO to be stereo, but there is no such restriction in the spec afaik

> error: Windows Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
> info: Exception: Fatal Error: Unhandled exception

Cubase and Reaper work ok with it.

@falktx Maybe we could also ask them why they are breaking GPL with Push 3 :D

@falktx maybe I'm missing something, but as I understood, they're shipping it with a modified Linux kernel and not providing the source to customers

@loki_bass I am not sure if they have to since it is a closed box, the Linux is practically working as firmware.

note they only need to release source to customers, if you didnt buy their product you have no cause to ask for source.

@falktx what driver type is Live crashing with (asio/mme/dx)? I can have a look

@uucidl ASIO, using a thesycon based driver as most companies do nowadays.

I submitted a technical report, number 3046776. There is a crash dump in there.

If it helps to get hands on with such a unit for testing I can provide that.

Thanks!

@falktx Thanks, I was going to ask for a crash dump

@falktx Thanks, the crash dump helped pin-point at one area where the code expected a stereo pair. Before trying to get a physical piece of hardware, I'll try to simulate it in software

@uucidl wonderful, thanks a lot!

we received already 2 reports from users about this so they will be happy to know a fix might be coming
