there can be some things that can be done like removing divider lines and using spacing but the biggest issue I see here is that the audio level indicators (blue lines) are very thin and not very visible for something that is essential to use.

otherwise this is okay. I'll try to do a few mockups and send. should I put them as an issue on github or just mail them/post them here?
