@woof we can thank @dvzrv who updates things very quickly, sometimes too quick before I even had the chance of properly testing the releases 😅

thanks again for your modules by the way, too bad about the VCV situation, hope you someday find the state of mind to at least try to use some of those things you made

@apophis It should be common knowledge by now that mastodon.art blocks pretty much every single trans fem fediverse instance that runs alternative software but somehow it isn't yet. They blocked mine like two months after I started self-hosting.

A lot of people follow me for my work with softsynths (and now hardware synths) and are totally unaware of that, you should passs on the message to your friends on this instance: they should move. You can post about art anywhere on the network, being on this instance limit your reach and enables the worst kind of petty power abuses. Explain to your friends they can leave mastodon.art without losing their followers.

Preparing a nice little feature for Cardinal - OSC remote control.

Can send a full patch or simple parameter changes.

See initial documentation/instructions at github.com/DISTRHO/Cardinal/bl

Thanks to @dreamer for recording a demo video, showing off it working through TouchOSC on an iPad. Neat 📷

@matthew_fells @paperdigits also can recommend, mailbox.org has been working for me without failure

@nielso the scrolling leading to dropouts is expected, everything runs on the main thread including the audio, so if the graphics take too long it will take time needed for the audio.

anyhow, thanks for checking. seems a few cases do not work yet, but most do.

you can also run Cardinal natively of course, and that is still preferred if you can

Since it seems #Google has decided to uni-laterally force through their new anti-#adblock #DRM euphemistically named "Web environment integrity", I decided to add a little bit of code to my website that blanks out the page and displays a protest message with a link to the firefox download page when you visit it from a browser with this DRM feature. Here's the source inside one toot, feel free to copy and put it at the end of your website's <body> before the closing tag:

This line change in the google-chrome AUR repo is 💯 percent based.

@begsby because of work, it is where the employer is. and lots of other jobs and stuff happening too, which is a plus.

Rent situation in Berlin is beyond ridiculous, to the point where I am curiously looking at other european cities to compare... 👀

But then it only makes the problem worse, I rather not be one of those "expats" that ruin a city by means of gentrification.

Don't see many alternatives, already tried (re)living with parents and it is really not the best for many reasons...

This whole situation sucks

I must have done it more than 10 times today, I keep writing "22.07" even though we are in 2023 right now.

What happened to 2022 you silly brain 🧠 ❓

@woof this is called rubber ducking, it really helps to just talk out loud about the problem 🦆

@danimo @trummerschlunk OBS can do LV2? I haven't seen that before..

checking the plugin...

> Warning | This plugin is in alpha state - some features may not work. It also may and probably will crash your OBS.

oh ok nevermind then

seems broken under wayland too.

Just updated the OBS + Carla (plugin hosting) Ubuntu PPA.
See launchpad.net/~falktx/+archive for details

This PPA is basically a repackage of the official OBS one from launchpad.net/~obsproject/+arc
See github.com/KXStudio/Repository for the script and patch file used to generate the custom OBS packages.

@trummerschlunk please ping/forward our CC friends about the update :)

noticed a bunch of CI failures lately, a quick investigation reveals github updated their CI images again, of course 🤦‍♂️

there goes another afternoon debugging and figuring out something that still makes it all work...

@prokoudine can relate, the recent (and still on-going) effort to get audio plugins running inside OBS is an example of this.
