@unfa Porn is sadly a escape-goat for other things, just like violent games is for gun violence.

There is nothing wrong about sex work, it is a job like any other. The stigma against it is terrible, it just prevents those that work on the field to be taken seriously and receive proper care.

IMO the "new" drug we need to fight is sugar, that one has actually received scientific studies on its addiction. Obesity is a real crisis. Whatever people do in private time is not.

Do you mean porn being blamed for sex violence? I think criminal behaviors are an entirely different and unrelated problem. School shootings seem to be more an issue of lack of mental health help and how easy it is to get a gun in US (freedom!), not a result of gore in films or games.
Similarly I don't think we can excuse a rapist for his porn addiction (if he has one). I'm talking about more subtle problems it causes.

When I say that porn is often a escape-goat, I mean in attributing a lot of bad stuff to it. It is not just violence, but for example "decadence" and the whole stigma/tabu of anyone working in the area. People treat it as this ugly disgusting thing, but it is just human nature (we can say animal nature, as they masturbate too)
