Something that has been brewing in the last few weeks...
https://kx.studio/News/?action=view&url=introducing-aida-x
This is a (bass/guitar-focused) Amp Model Player audio plugin, basically it loads AI trained models to realistically simulate an audio effect (amp, cab, dist, drive, fuzz, boost and eq).
Available as AU/CLAP/LV2/VST2/VST3 and Standalone.
Done in partnership with AIDA-DSP and MOD Audio.
Enjoy!
In case you didn't know, I am integrating my carla plugin host into OBS, so we can load all sorts of audio plugins directly in it.
my intention is to reuse Carla components as much as possible, both improving Carla and getting a very welcome feature into OBS at the same time.
it is progressing going quite well, with already stuff to show.
still a fair bit of things to do too but I am hopeful to get it into shape very soon! π
see https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/discussions/5074 for more details
The teased plugin has its first release, AIDA-X 0.1.0 is out! π
See https://github.com/AidaDSP/AIDA-X
This is an "Amp Model Player leveraging AI", basically a loader for AI trained models that simulate any combination of amp, cab, dist, drive, fuzz, boost and eq,
It is a joint effort between me, MOD and Aida DSP folks.
You can find related resources in https://forum.mod.audio/c/neural/62 where we hope to create a hub for discussing, sharing and everything related to AIDA-X and AI models.
Wolf-Shaper new release!
It is the v1.0 π
See more details at https://wolf-plugins.github.io/wolf-shaper/
It is not my own plugin, but I helped bring it up to speed to latest DPF stuff.
Grateful for the plugin, somehow I get mentioned 3 times in the release notes π

Now with VST3 and CLAP π

Continuing the adventures on MOD pedalboard and web-assembly-compiled GUIs..
The workflow of click-to-focus was too awkward so I have changed that now. The usual bypass switch was also missing, which gave me an idea...
What if we use a window-like top-bar with the bypass switch on it? Then the βwindow titleβ space can be for the plugin name. It reminds me of the Gnome Desktop π
When you have a web frontend stuff and are doing web-assembly+webgl experiments on the side, the conclusion is obvious - let's mix the two!
took some time to setup, and still doing testing, but damn got plugin's full desktop UIs working inside the browser. π±
the audio is processed on a remote system with the wasm+webgl for the frontend view (among the other MOD things of course).
I love how we can integrate the 2 like that. specially like being able to do web GUIs without web tech π
Just noticed Luciano Iam updated to latest DPF and enabled CLAP builds. π π
Of course also in other formats, LV2, VST2 and VST3 are there.
The https://github.com/lucianoiam/consul project is specially cool, like a custom OSC remote control but simplified and in audio plugin form.
Also https://github.com/lucianoiam/hiphop is updated, which is how the plugins are built. Providing a way to mix JavaScript/HTML/CSS and plugin GUIs.
Cool stuff!
ZamAudio and CLAP, just one more fix to get this working fully π π
See https://www.zamaudio.com/?p=976 for details on these.
The 4.0 release already has VST3 and CLAP, but a little fix is needed to get them to work nicely in these formats. Pull request already sent upstream.
SurgeXT is now in Cardinal!
(together with MildMeld PatchMaster and stoermelder-packone too!)
Just updated the web version so you can try it out without installing.
See for a demo patch by JTB
Press "run" in the top-left module to begin the waves π π
