In this month’s activity report: Lots of HiDPI fixes, decade-old scheduler bugs, and more! https://www.haiku-os.org/blog/waddlesplash/2022-09-09_haiku_activity_contract_report_august_2022/
@unfa to be more exact, check the releases section for such downloads

And btw, it is only LV2 plugin builds, intentionally.
If you have to use non-free operating systems, you can get a nice set of FOSS audio plug-ins including Vitalium for Windows and Mac OS from @falktx 's DISTRHO PawPaw project:

I am going back on what I said about clap and live streams.
I keep waiting for a good opportunity and time and mood for them, but it is hard.
On the weekend I had many interruptions, that would ruin a live stream. Today there are going to be some as I have a few things to attend. And then the clap implementation slowly gets delayed, this is not good...
So instead I will just do mini reports on a regular basis.
Subscribe to https://github.com/DISTRHO/DPF/issues/383 if you want to follow along.
Today I'm doing another monthly livestream!
As usual, we'll be making some music with free and open-source software on Linux, answering questions and at the end - playing your music submission :)
Get your tracks finished up and submit them in the form linked in the stream's description!

woohoo, we have a release 🥳
master_me is a mastering plugin for live streaming, podcasts and internet radio stations.
free & open source
https://github.com/trummerschlunk/master_me
I have been developing this for the last 6 months and with the help of many contributors, it's finally ready. Can't believe how much I learned...
Thanks to @falktx @magnetophon @x42 @jkbd the faust community

** NOTICE **
The behavior of #Zrythm trial version binaries will be relaxed soon:
- no limits on save/load/export
- the only limitation will be a maximum number of 25 tracks
**
Zrythm is #FreeSoftware :
- paid binaries help support development
- users can always build Zrythm from source at no cost
**
@unfa I think I will have to, otherwise debugging plugins is much harder (having to start a full DAW just to check a few small plugin things..)
The important part is CLAP and DPF, for making plugins. That is the sponsored work.
Adding it in Carla is not part of the task, though if I have time I will do it as well
I am going to join the "hip" kids and start some CLAP implementation too. As the famous quote goes, "you gotta do what you gotta do", but why not have some fun while at it too.
I am considering doing live-streams for such implementation. Again following the cool kids 😎
Want to ask though if anyone is even interested.
So Yay or Nay..?
Now with v1.0.0 stable release tagged!
Binaries at https://github.com/trummerschlunk/master_me/releases or via KXStudio repositories if you prefer.
So who wants to help test a plugin before release?
The master-me plugin is ready, go try it out! https://github.com/trummerschlunk/master_me
The github actions tab has the usual build stuff, and you can always build it yourself (can take a bit due to git submodules download).
If all is fine, we get a release later today
I saw someone inspecting an elevator and asked if I could watch. He went on to explain all kinds of cool things about the elevator, like that it had 6 cables and that any single one of them was rated to hold the whole thing. It also has big hydraulic shock absorbers underneath just in case. Sometimes people tell him to hurry up so they can use it again, but I’m ok with him taking his time.
People often love telling you about what they’re doing if you’re willing to ask. Stay curious!
My new video is here! This one tackles copyright and legal issues and is a follow-up to my previous video about Virtual Playing Orchestra.

@openmastering @this I am too young, jamin was not something I ever used, it was already started being phased out (mainly due to it being standalone) when I started doing things in linux audio.
from what I understand the new plugin can serve as replacement yes, though the same can be achieve in many other ways.
A great writeup on the GRUB issue:
https://endeavouros.com/news/full-transparency-on-the-grub-issue/
@unfa I use KDE / Linux, works quite well
@gperson is there an option where it doesnt matter? similar things can be achieved in both
@unfa sadly such design is totally unlike what Rack does internally.
I have similar goals that I want for it, because I want this wasm UI to be able to control a remote instance. But as it stands it is just not possible. Either some very smart tricks need to be found, or major engine rework to be done, before this is even possible.
