@odo send that to @uheplugins too!
Just noticed Luciano Iam updated to latest DPF and enabled CLAP builds. π π
Of course also in other formats, LV2, VST2 and VST3 are there.
The https://github.com/lucianoiam/consul project is specially cool, like a custom OSC remote control but simplified and in audio plugin form.
Also https://github.com/lucianoiam/hiphop is updated, which is how the plugins are built. Providing a way to mix JavaScript/HTML/CSS and plugin GUIs.
Cool stuff!
ZamAudio and CLAP, just one more fix to get this working fully π π
See https://www.zamaudio.com/?p=976 for details on these.
The 4.0 release already has VST3 and CLAP, but a little fix is needed to get them to work nicely in these formats. Pull request already sent upstream.
@uheplugins the DISTRHO stuff still evolves, the zamaudio plugin collection will be ready for release very soon :)
CLAP turns half a year old this week. Check out what has happened since June: https://cleveraudio.org/news/half-a-year-in/
We've just released Ardour 7.2. Not many big new features this time, but it's a nice balance between bug fixes and various improvements.
You can now use MIDI Learn for trigger slots, easily discover Ardour in TouchOSC, import and export Opus files, import MIDI Lyrics.
There have also been UX improvements, notably in the region bouncing feature.
Oh, and we've eliminated a lot of crashes when editing the tempo map!
See here for more details:
@Canageek
security and MIDI dont have to be related.
MIDI is a super simple and trivial protocol, just some bytes to designate status and channel, plus some values to go along with a message. midi messages dont typically take more than 3 7-bit values.
exception is sysex, which allows to talk directly to hardware yes.
but sysex is an optional flag on the webmidi API request.
the cardinal web app thing does not request sysex permissions but that popup still appears.
@emilis it is new in FF 108, will be officially out tomorrow.
@unfa actually nothing works on it right now, I cannot even load the homepage.
@unfa there are several bugs going on, that I see still not being fixed for a long time. That is why I kept myself on 4.x.x, the newer versions easily have stuff broken by updating.
Right now I see 2 big long-standing issues:
1. opening a URL for a specific room shows nothing, like https://chat.unfa.xyz/channel/software
2. big button to login does not work, we need to use the tiny door-with-arrow little icon near the top instead
@prokoudine @GIMP I saw that before, sounds like excuses from developers that just want to move on to more interesting things.
how do they want JPEG-XL to have more adoption (and thus be worth to support) if they never even enabled it by default?
@prokoudine @GIMP the new developments on JPEG XL seem weird to me. didnt google abandon the project recently?
@eylul these follow fridays are slightly anxiety inducing, weeks are passing by too quickly! π
(oh it is friday again already??)
