@fusterclucker Also, there is a rocketchat instance for us to discuss all things DPF-related. Link also in the DPF readme, that being chat.kx.studio/channel/dpf

DPF does not have real widgets, so that is usually the biggest hurdle. But I made abstract classes for stuff I use in my own plugins, so devs only need to implement the drawing for buttons, knobs etc.

This is all made on free time and 100% liberally licensed, so you get what you pay for kinda deal. Always open to contributions of course!

@fusterclucker I only have the same URL as mentioned in DPF readme, that being distrho.github.io/DPF/

I want to work on plugin documentation, now that things have stabilized a bit on DPF development side.

On a tangent but still related, MOD Devices (who I work for) is soon getting someone to help with this too. Since JUCE is not ready for LV2 just yet, we will likely just work on DPF directly as a way to push plugins+developers into the MOD platform. Everybody wins! :D

@fusterclucker I recommend new devs to use DPF, made by yours truly ;)

If something in specific is needed that is not in DPF, I am always available for hire to get these features there sooner.

But realistically JUCE will stay on the top spot for a long time.
It has everything needed to get audio plugins with a few steps and code, while DPF is quite barebones by design (I prefer leaner frameworks, JUCE got too big IMO)

@hoergen and to continue on this, after inspection of the code, this is not so great at all..
some people on IRC were quite upset over the quality of the DSP code, it is that bad...
expect tons of aliasing issues with the plugin.

@hoergen sounds great!

but ooouch, uses nodejs and react, wtf...
web browser on plugin gui for rendering the actual GUI is a tiny bit much, specially if going over node.

hopefully it is only for GUI, nothing JS/node wise on DSP side..

The Libre Music Challenge is a friendly competition happening every month, where partakers make a piece of music on a given theme or using a given open-source tool and enjoy the creativity and learning that ensues! After the submission deadline is up, everyone votes to pick a winner! (There's no prizes handed out other than the eternal glory as a LMC winner).

This month''s theme is: THE 80s Synthwave / Newwave.

The most curious things happen sometimes..
On a walk around in Lisbon after meeting with friends, I come across a protest for animal rights. Obviously I had to join! :)
Now in talks with the organizers, I just wish they did not rely on facebook so much... :/

Delay Architect is a very inspiring, open-source delay plug-in that lets you visually create a sequence of delay taps with different volume, panning, filtering and pitchshifting applied. Awesome stuff!

Turns out the Delay Architect plug-in has a new awesome look, and an ability to store/restore patches!
I've been using an outdated version!

@stragu not quite, there is still a build-time switch if I understood correctly. maybe it could work as a boot-time parameter? there were some discussions about it before, but not sure if there was any conclusion to it.

Another month ends, another monthly report arrives.
We can be flashy this time, a few visual things to show.

See you next month!

@falktx both here. Tusky is rather useable though. But I kinda prefer the Desktop because of typing on mobile is a hassle 😊

Am I the only one using mastodon on the desktop? So many replies to my last message saying they use mobile/phone stuff..

I find the mastodon mobile application to be quite crappy, too much stuff going on all over the place.

Often when I receive a message I rather wait until I have time on the desktop/laptop, rather than replying from the phone. I must be some dying breed or something... 😅

A long-requested feature landed in Haiku's development branch just hours ago: thumbnails in Tracker!

@rghvdberg@sonomu.club very negative people online. I remember when the "yes" in the poll was winning.
You can blame me, I said no without noticing the 💉 💉 emojis... 🤦‍♂️
Sorry, maybe next time write plain text 🤔
