Weekly recap is out: new releases of RawTherapee, Zrythm, VCV Rack, Cardinal, a release candidate of MuseScore 4.0, and more
@kamikazow noooo, that seems awful. I am glad my OCD is not that bad
@aniy haha sure, but best to not ignore invoices and receipts of course!
@atsushieno yep, it is then DPF doing the magic of plugin abstraction, which includes web-assembly support.
JUCE doesnt officially support web targets yet
SurgeXT is now in Cardinal!
(together with MildMeld PatchMaster and stoermelder-packone too!)
Just updated the web version so you can try it out without installing.
See for a demo patch by JTB

Mastodon which is incredibly hot, supports RSS beautifully.
Just add .rss to any account to get the feed. Amazing!

Open that in your favorite feed reader. Itโll work.
Post a screenshot, say what the reader app is.
And pass this on to everyone who uses a feed reader.
Spread the word!
This is a huge deal for the open web.
oh I forgot to give the magic link! ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Try it out in https://cardinal.kx.studio/ ๐ ๐ ๐
This is kinda cool, getting modules working on Cardinal means we immediately get them working on the browser too (assuming they dont do fancy thread stuff, which most don't)
new stoermelder modules? got it!
update befaco to bring pony-vco,? cool, now it runs on the browser too!
update mindmeld to get patchmaster? yep, loaded in browser!
for showing off and trying random things, this is quite cool.
@apatchworkboy there was a license incompatibility in the past, authors now updated it to be GPLv3+ which is Cardinal compatible <3
it is now in Cardinal, part of latest git and GH action builds ๐ ๐ ๐
that brings the alternative module browser too. I did skip the MIDI utilities though, as they would need substantial rework in order to run in Cardinal.
New weekly-ish recap is out: @GIMP 2.99.14, massive source code drop by Amazon (Krakatoa, XMesh etc.) and AMD, new BlenderBIM release, and more

@whynothugo closing the last tab on firefox closes the window too yes. previously we needed to use ctrl+q to really close it, this changed quite a while ago
@whynothugo except when applications fully close when doing a last ctrl+w, that is seriously annoying.
Doing multiple ctrl+w until every tab is closed has its uses, and it used to NOT close the whole thing...

Cardinal 22.11 has been released!
https://kx.studio/News/?action=view&url=cardinal-2211-released
#Cardinal could be described as #VCVrack in a box" - an #audio #plugin packed with #OpenSource modules that allows you to build modular patches, effects, #synthesizers and whatnot and have them conveniently packaged in a plug-in. Unless you explicitly load external plug-ins (via the Ildaeil module) the patches are completely self-contained and perfectly portable.
Lately I've been synthesizing car engine audio assets for a game with it.
Hello Fediverse, happy to join you :) Robin Gareus recently added a tiny nostalgic feature: importing lyrics from MIDI files as region markers. The "Import MIDI markers" checkbox has to be on. You can also convert those to location markers and then clean up region markers. The new feature is coming in v7.2 soon.
@ardour so we can use ardour for karaoke now? hope ardour can handle *.kar file extensions! ๐
