Are you someone who has a simple fix for something in the Linux kernel, but haven't bothered submitting a patch because you find the email workflow daunting? Can be a bugfix, spelling correction, anything at all.

If so, I want to talk to you! I have tools that simplify this process quite a bit, but I need more feedback from people who aren't long-term Linux maintainers.

Please reach out, either via here or by emailing mricon@kernel.org.

Twitter just sneaked in a new rule disallowing links to competing platforms, right during the world cup finals

Gods, screaming at all my mutuals to leave had zero effect in getting them to leave, and now this.

At least I’m easy to find online, but they aren’t.

Amazon workers in Coventry vote to go on strike in the new year. They were classed as key workers during the pandemic… but are treated like robots for low pay. Amazon has plenty money to go around.

> This time the turnout was 63%, with 98% of those backing strike action, marking the first time Amazon workers in the UK have voted to do so.

Just noticed Luciano Iam updated to latest DPF and enabled CLAP builds. 👏 👏
Of course also in other formats, LV2, VST2 and VST3 are there.

The github.com/lucianoiam/consul project is specially cool, like a custom OSC remote control but simplified and in audio plugin form.

Also github.com/lucianoiam/hiphop is updated, which is how the plugins are built. Providing a way to mix JavaScript/HTML/CSS and plugin GUIs.

Cool stuff!

Firefox snap was updated to 108, sadly the WebMIDI functionality is not enabled.
meh 😞

Same happens on the chromium snap too.

They sure make it hard to be excited for these things... 🙃

ZamAudio and CLAP, just one more fix to get this working fully 👏 👏

See zamaudio.com/?p=976 for details on these.

The 4.0 release already has VST3 and CLAP, but a little fix is needed to get them to work nicely in these formats. Pull request already sent upstream.

We've just released Ardour 7.2. Not many big new features this time, but it's a nice balance between bug fixes and various improvements.

You can now use MIDI Learn for trigger slots, easily discover Ardour in TouchOSC, import and export Opus files, import MIDI Lyrics.

There have also been UX improvements, notably in the region bouncing feature.

Oh, and we've eliminated a lot of crashes when editing the tempo map!

See here for more details:

Firefox surely does not want people using WebMIDI...
Why is this prompt so different from all the others that ask for permission??

WebMIDI does work in FF 108 after you accept to install the extra addon for each site specifically, but damn couldn't it be a bit less scary? 😱
