Achievement unlocked: get all the DISTRHO stuff listed in https://clapdb.tech/ π π π
The dedicated page https://clapdb.tech/developer/distrho has a nice size to it.
Now we just need to update the several plugins in https://github.com/DISTRHO/DPF/wiki/Plugins-made-with-DPF to latest DPF so we can enable CLAP π (and VST3 ποΈ) support "for free".
It's kinda crazy that I have over 3500 followers here on #Mastodon :D
Thanks! I hope you're enjoying my stuff!
@n0toose nothing of the sort, I just dont think this is the platform for such things and discussions. short messages are not good for proper long discussions in my opinion.
also, seeing people rant (at least to me) puts me completely off the topic and any possible discussion.
if someone is ranting they dont want a discussion, they want to be right.
@n0toose it is not the opensource devs and projects that bring github money, so obviously they have more corporate oriented features present.
anyhow I just wanted to correct a minor but common misconception. and github doesnt make that very clear...
anyhow, your lengthy replies to this do not push anyone your way.
maybe write those on a blog post or something..
@n0toose you can disable pull requests on github, but it is a per organization setting. their ToS mention this.
And release is tagged.
DPF-Plugins v1.6 is out
https://github.com/DISTRHO/DPF-Plugins/releases/tag/v1.6
(DPF-Plugins is a collection of DPF-based plugins, including Kars, MVerb and Nekobi)
This release brings some fixes alongside finishing the VST3 versions and adds CLAP support.
Enjoy!
@prokoudine I like how you call it "Weekly-ish" now π
Weekly-ish recap is out: @GIMP is getting text strokes, @inkscape and @krita have all sorts of useful features in the progress, Ardour 7.0 is out, and so is MuseScore 4.0 beta

@nebunez Oh the laptop has its fair share of issues, build quality is quite subpar. I can no longer open it due to the backplate screws being all messed up, among other things...
But still usable even with its faults.
A bad battery totally kills its usefulness though. I already have a beefy desktop PC...
Purism responded to my query regarding laptop battery.
> I'm afraid we still do not have batteries for Librem 15 models, and even if did, you're right, it would be problematic to ship to Europe.
This is quite annoying. Laptop is only around 2 years old...
Soon enough it will be unusable as portable device :(
Kinda ridiculous in my opinion. So much for sustainability π
@lislegaard did you see the page I linked to? Maybe if you are in the USA it shows something different.
I am trying to find a replacement battery for a Librem 15 laptop, I know the model number is U753-TS44-111 but can't find it anywhere :(
The Purism site page for it https://shop.puri.sm/shop/librem-15-battery/ says it does not ship outside the USA, so seems like I am locked out of options...
Has anyone had similar issues before? How did you solve it?
It is release day!
Got 3 of those today, super fresh
Ildaeil (including the version in Cardinal) can load VST2 and CLAP binary files to host them.
The rest is pretty much just bugfixes.

@unperson yes. it is all depending on me adding a way for carla to do background scanning, with cache, db, checksums, etc etc.
@DavidMarzalC well the purpose of the video didnt suceed, we have clap now which is yet another standard.
but cant blame developers too much, dealing with steinberg and vst3 is so awful and bad, doing a whole new spec is faster than properly implementing vst3. π€·
maybe NOW we have enough formats. right...?
