Currently Masto.host is experiencing the highest volume of traffic that has ever reached the infrastructure.
The service is partially degraded and I will be doing fast upgrades on the platform.
These can lead to partial downtime, errors and large delays in support requests.

by the way if you are like me and host mastodon in #yunohost. if you migrate to new debian version, do a forced an upgrade of mastodon after. (it basically refreshes it without erasing your data)
(some maintenance tasks might not run otherwise and can cause your media cache to balloon up)
@cnx twitter has a way to get very fast access to news will be a sad thing to lose. I know everytime some random event happened, it was already being reported on twitter.
police reported things there directly for interested parties to get info from, among other entities.
so that would be kind of a lost. although one that in theory can just move somewhere else.

Now the way the Internet Archive is doing mastodon is how more organisations and celebs should be joining the fediverse!
They have a dedicated in house instance, which lets you identify official staff, and gives them control and security over their content, whilst also allowing people and instances to opt in or out of interacting with them

i'm not gonna post actively on this instance again given how it's spinning down, but i will prolly install a single-user instance of something non-mastodon soon, what's good? seems pleroma recovered a bit from its social issues, and misskey improved its performance and gained a pair of friendly feature forks. calckey might be good idk
