@falktx both here. Tusky is rather useable though. But I kinda prefer the Desktop because of typing on mobile is a hassle π
Am I the only one using mastodon on the desktop? So many replies to my last message saying they use mobile/phone stuff..
I find the mastodon mobile application to be quite crappy, too much stuff going on all over the place.
Often when I receive a message I rather wait until I have time on the desktop/laptop, rather than replying from the phone. I must be some dying breed or something... π
@tenacity which human being has mentioned the bird site on mastodon
you shall be sentenced to logout
Carla Plugin Host v2.4.0 is here.
https://kx.studio/News/?action=view&url=carla-plugin-host-v240-is-here
A release just in time for Ubuntu's feature freeze, light on new stuff but still valid. π
@falktx has been doing some incredibly valuable, dedicated and important work in the work of #LinuxAudio / #FLOSS audio over the years, in particular with the #KXStudio project.
If you rely on these tools, or even just feel like helping, please consider a donation.
falkTX talks about the difficulties in keeping development going on his free time in this post from last month: https://kx.studio/News/?action=view&url=kxstudio-monthly-report-june-2021-and-a-little-personal-note
You can choose from a variety of ways to donate here: https://kx.studio/Donations
Thanks! π
If you're looking for a chance to get paid to write meaningful open source software, here's one of those rare opportunities. Fully remote.
We're hiring additional software engineers to join the SecureDrop team, an open source platform to protect journalists & whistleblowers. Our posting outlines the specific skillsets we're looking for:

If this describes you, please get in touch! Happy to answer questions.
Hi. I need some quick testing from people using Linux and High-DPI / >1 Desktop Scale Factor.
Just added support for this on DPF Linux side, so testing is very much appreciated.
To test:
```
git clone --recursive -b develop https://github.com/DISTRHO/DPF.git
make -C DPF
./DPF/bin/d_info
```
The test requires OpenGL and X11 develop packages installed and a working audio setup (if you are on archlinux you should always have this)
Let me know if it scales properly, see screenshot for an example
Oh and btw, while website is being tweaked and updated, time for a Carla bugfix release! v2.3.2 fixing a few regressions introduced in v2.3.1

Looking for ideas on a new page (again for the kx.studio site).
If you look at https://kx.studio/Development it should be pretty clear what it tries to do.
But well, it looks horrible π
Suggestions will be very welcome!
PS: the page might take a tiny bit to load
Need to ask for help/feedback/testing again.
Did some iframe trickery to get a page embed into another one with its full height, as then only 1 scrollbar is needed (from the main page).
If you have a few seconds, open up https://kx.studio/Board and tell me:
1. Do you see [kan]board style contents within the page content?
2. Is the content height correct? (that is, you can see the full thing)
3. Do you see only 1 scrollbar, or more?
4. Does anything look out of place?
Thanks!
Making the KXStudio homepage more mobile friendly, getting most of the contents to be friendly to vertical layouts.
Still need to figure out a way to do a "hamburguer" menu or something to access all the previous menu entries.
But the content should be way more responsive compared to before.
Please give it a try at https://kx.studio/
Do you spot anything wrong?
PS: If you visited the page before, you might need to force-reload to get rid of browser cache.
Another one of those monthly reports is here.
Mostly about automated builds this time.
