My poor little server, so much ffmpeg importing @unfa 's videos 😂 😂 😂

@deerbard @unfa programming 😂
but... as long as unfa keeps using Linux, I think it is only a matter of time until we see some python here and there haha

@sjaehn no, for shipping with a commercial product without worries.

typical CC-by license makes the music you produce using those works (samples, IR files, etc) also bound by the same CC license, which is terrible to give to users freely.

I am looking for stuff that is basically public domain, where I can remix, modify, rename, repackage, whatever.
Some good CC-0 sample libraries exist, but I am unable to find IR files licenses similarly.

@unfa Let me try to convince you.
This little piece of code: github.com/falkTX/falktx-web/b
Generates this: falktx.com/files/cv.pdf

There are many latex templates out there, mine comes from one of those and just tweaked a bit.
It is nice not having to care about layout (after some initial setup).
I can keep adding/altering stuff and nothing will break.

Sorry for the self-plug 😝

@unfa inkscape? I think the answer instead is latex 😂

Anyone knows of a good collection of Reverb IR files that are CC-0/public-domain licensed?

@unfa great, I will start (re)uploading your stuff in the background while doing other tasks then.
I will create a "unfa" user on the server, so it is more clear videos are yours, not mine.

and to be fair and clear, I am perfectly fine with hosting the videos as long as you want them.
I just dont wanna make any promises regarding bandwith because I simply do not know how big of a performance and network usage hit this will generate. the server has 1.4TB of free disk space, so that part is fine

@joeligj12 @unfa Tenacity works just fine as a mini-play with Audacity name.
Why does the name need to sound like audio software?
Here is a list of names for stuff I created which are all audio tools:
- Catia
- Claudia
- Carla
- JackAss
- Nekobi

Let's also not forget the most famous audio plugin suite in Linux, appropriately named "Calf".

Anyway, out of the audacity forks I have seen, one is obviously not like the others, meme-ing wise. You easily can tell which

@porru @unfa ah neat, I am going to do an experiment with youtu.be/IYwaZTdlzk4 just as a test case then...

It is now uploaded at peertube.kx.studio/videos/watc

@unfa if it is okay with you, I can create a channel dedicated to your videos on this instance. no promises on how long I can keep this up, since I didnt stress test the server yet. can even give you a user if you prefer that

@unfa I can place them on peertube.kx.studio/ if you give me permission. Do you still have the original files store somewhere so I can rehost? or downloading via `youtube-dl -f bestaudio+bestvideo` is fine?

@unfa no problem. I created that repo as a backup, though afaik the ipfs backup will keep working regardless of any potential DMCA against musescore-downloader.

I saw people worried about #vaccines causing death. My wife is a doctor so I asked her.

It's complicated, but the general takeaway is: all medicine has risk involved. Just like driving a car or even walking near a roadway. Yet the risk vs reward ratio is usually such that we decide to use medicine. In people who don't have strong independent risk factors vaccines should not cause issues. There's always outliers, but generally vaccines save way, way more lives than they cost.

#COVID19

@unfa I find it quite sad that we even have to debate this.

All around awesome dude "hbomberguy" has a very nice and extensive video about this.
Cant recommend it enough.

A new JACK2 release. 🚀
Don't forget to restart the JACK server after the update.

LWN has a little article on github copilot lwn.net/SubscriberLink/862769/

Also links to gist.github.com/0xabad1dea/be1 which is pretty interesting

I like this quote from the github gist:
> The inevitable conclusion is that Copilot can and will write security vulnerabilities on a regular basis

😂

@zkat great and always welcome!

I have quite a few opensource projects and very much welcome outside contributions.
They sometimes add support for things I don't completely understand myself, but that are useful to have in general.
Sometimes the changes are not good for merging, but bring a good core idea.

This doesn't seem controversial at all to me.
